We came to life underneath a colorful canopy of bay laurels, redwoods, pines and manzanitas in the Oakland hills, where long hikes throughout Aurelia Reinhardt Regional Park inspire our creative work with joy, balance and a dash of zen.

We began with freelance design projects. As those projects  increased in frequency, and our reliance on the natural world to spark our design ethos remained steady, we decided to make things official by branding our studio after the land that gives us so much. Trailsend (a location deep in the park, near the “redwood cathedral” that poet Joaquin Miller helped plant and protect) became our namesake. At our studio, nature is play – and we believe that following the delicate, brilliant patterns of nature leads to simply beautiful design. 

We work with teams of all sizes and stages to build beautiful, crystal-clear design for web and print. We’ve designed branding, content and web builds for mission-driven startups, meditation centers, podcasts, community centers, solopreneurs and beyond.
